Social Media & AI

Artificial Intelligence is all around us, every day. Don’t believe me? Just ask Alexa.

With AI servers getting savvier and more creative, it's no shock that it has entered the social media ring. So are they ready to take over the ‘Gram? Not exactly.

The recent launch of ChatGPT (GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer) has some industries taking note. ChatGPT is a large language model of AI designed to create human-like text. Because automation can sometimes make things easier, companies are beginning to utilize it. However, we know that faster and easier aren’t synonymous with better.

Social media, at its core, was created so humans had a digital space to interact with other humans. It removed the barrier of physical distance and allowed people to connect worldwide instantaneously. Social media allows humans to create communities through a screen. Social media’s success is due to humans craving human connection, something AI can’t genuinely replace.

But how do you stand out against the ‘bots?

  • Allow your social media presence to exude your personal brand. Make sure that the unique traits of your brand are at the forefront of your feeds.

  • Share your stories. Storytelling is a tradition as old a time. We gravitate towards receiving information this way. Telling your brand’s stories—your tips & tricks, your origins, your next steps—directly to your consumers will captivate them better than any AI could.

  • Post authentic visuals. Give your followers a helpful infographic that they can share with their friends or invite them to scroll through your profile with iconic brand photography.

As long as we keep the social in social media, we’ll be just fine.
